How It Works

Signed chart to accurate codes, automatically

Arintra processes each clinical note at chart signing, without disrupting the provider's workflow.

The Coding Problem

Manual coding can cause substantial revenue loss

In a standard ambulatory practice, coding follows chart signature and precedes claim submission. A coder examines the note, interprets findings, and chooses CPT and ICD-10 codes using memory and references. Workload creates delays, while unclear documentation leads to undercoding or missed codes.

Arintra removes this constraint. Once the provider signs, it processes the note and sends a complete code set to billing. No manual start, chart queue, or overnight backlog.

Chart parsing: reading the provider's note

After a provider finalizes an EHR note, Arintra receives the complete encounter through the FHIR API. It reads structured fields, including problem, medication, and vital lists, plus free text covering assessment, plan, and HPI. Structured data establishes context; narrative supplies often-missing clinical detail.

Before code assignment, the parser determines encounter type, specialty context, and every documented clinical finding.

Assigning codes at the right specificity level

From parsed findings, Arintra chooses CPT codes for each documented procedure and ICD-10 codes for each diagnosis. It resolves specificity requirements before finalizing, including laterality, acuity, encounter level, and modifiers, separating reimbursable codes from those sent back.

Before return, codes undergo validation against current payer rules. This step flags common bundling conflicts and incompatible modifiers, rather than the clearinghouse.

EHR sync: codes returned without re-entry

Using the same FHIR API, Arintra writes the validated code set into your EHR encounter record. They appear in billing as though entered by a coder. No extra login, export, or copy-paste from an outside tool.

Write-back finishes before the provider's next encounter. The biller opens the queue to find a completed claim ready for review.

Denial guard: spotting issues before the claim leaves

Before writing codes to the EHR, Arintra checks them against known payer rules before submission. It catches modifier conflicts, bundled-code violations, absent laterality, and incomplete diagnosis chains, then resolves them automatically or marks them for biller review.

Finding these patterns before submission costs far less than pursuing a denial after payer rejection.

Modifier conflict detected: CPT 99213 + 25 modifier on same-day E/M. Payer rule: modifier 25 requires a separately identifiable service documented in the note.
Resolved: Documentation in HPI confirms separate identifiable service for preventive visit. Modifier 25 confirmed valid. Code set clean.
